Dr Libby Buchholz

Medical Practitioner – Specialist Registration – MED0001783698
Cosmetic Physician (FACAM) & General Practitioner (FRACGP)

Dr Libby is a Cosmetic Physician and General Practitioner with a diverse medical background, and a strong focus on patient and clinician education and advancement of evidence-based aesthetic care.

She obtained her medical degree from Monash University in 2012 and worked as a hospital doctor in Melbourne and Geelong before completing rural General Practice training, gaining Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2019. She also holds a diploma in obstetrics and gynaecology through RANZCOG.

Practicing in rural and regional settings has broadened her clinical knowledge and skills, and strengthened her ability to be resourceful, strategic, and adapt quickly in complex scenarios. By continuing to work in general practice, surgical assisting, and emergency medicine, she ensures her aesthetic practice is informed by up-to-date medical knowledge, a deep understanding of overall health, and sharp clinical judgement – recognising that aesthetics is only one part of helping someone feel and live better.

In 2022, Libby joined RiverEnd Aesthetics, quickly discovering the depth of medical science behind aesthetic practice. She became passionate about promoting evidence-based cosmetic medicine and addressing misconceptions within the broader medical community. She completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Cosmetic Medicine from the University of South Wales in 2023 and achieved Fellowship with the Australasian College of Aesthetic Medicine (ACAM) in 2024, where she also serves on the Membership Committee.

Dr Libby is actively involved in clinical research, with a particular focus on botulinum toxins and their interactions with the immune system. She regularly attends both local and international aesthetic medicine conferences. Dr Libby has been invited to lecture and share her insights at conferences, workshops, and industry events, reflecting her role as an emerging leader in the field.
