Frequently Asked Questions

Skin Checks
At RiverEnd Aesthetics, our doctors focus exclusively on cosmetic medicine, procedures, and research. While we can perform a basic skin examination, we do not perform formal dermatoscopy or skin biopsies. For a thorough skin cancer assessment, please see your regular GP, dermatologist, or local skin cancer clinic. We can recommend some highly regarded local skin doctors, if you need.
Finding Us
RiverEnd Aesthetics is located at Tenancy 9, 400 Pakington Street, Newtown.
Please note, our entrance is via Rutland Street.
Parking
We have two reserved patient car spaces in the private car park directly beside our clinic. These are the two spaces closest to our entrance, facing Rutland Street.
Children in the Clinic
For safety reasons, we kindly ask that children do not attend appointments, as our clinic contains medical equipment, sharps, and clinical waste. The only exceptions are babies who can remain safely in a pram during your treatment. We really appreciate your understanding in helping us keep the clinic a safe and calm space for everyone.
Bringing a Friend
We understand you may want support during your appointment, but please note that these are private medical consultations and procedures. Space is limited, and the clinic contains sharps and other clinical equipment. Sensitive medical information is discussed, and for safety and privacy reasons, our doctors generally do not allow spectators, except during teaching sessions.
Our Approach to Treatment

At RiverEnd Aesthetics, we focus on regenerative aesthetics, using skin treatments to stimulate your body’s own healing mechanisms and improve overall skin health. Although our clinic provides treatments such as botulinum toxin and dermal fillers, these are prescription-only medicines/devices and cannot be advertised under current regulations. For this reason, you won’t see them promoted on our website or social media. These treatments are only ever discussed during a comprehensive medical consultation, where your doctor will assess your individual needs and determine whether they are appropriate for you. Please note, these treatments might not be recommended at all.

RiverEnd Aesthetics is a medical clinic, not a beauty salon. All treatments are provided only when our doctors determine they are safe, appropriate, and in your best interest. Cosmetic procedures are medical procedures, regulated by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). Your safety, health, and wellbeing are our top priorities.

Philosophy
Our philosophy is deliberately conservative. We often recommend against treatments if they are unnecessary or unlikely to deliver natural, long-lasting results. If you value honest advice, realistic expectations, and a results-driven approach, you’ll feel right at home with us.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with the medical advice and services provided, and your concerns remain unresolved after discussing them with our doctors at your review appointments, you can take your complaint further by contacting AHPRA or the Health Care Complaints Commission online. We can help you find the appropriate websites, if needed.

  • A recent planning appointment
  • Completed consent

  • Arrangements for numbing or pre-medication, if appropriate

Clinic Communication

A Friendly Note: Our patients are fortunate to have direct access to Kerry; a service most clinics don’t offer. Please use this direct line considerately so it can continue to be available for you and all patients. Clinical advice is best given in person, so if you have any questions or concerns after your treatment, Kerry will happily arrange a face-to-face review with one of our doctors.

When to call the Practice Manager:

  • Anytime 24/7 if you think you might have a vascular occlusion after filler, or if you’re experiencing a serious side effect. Please do not text in this situation – you must call.
  • During business hours to book an appointment, or if you have concerns about mild side effects after treatment requiring a review or advice.

When to text the Practice Manager:

  • For appointment requests or non-urgent questions, you can message anytime. Replies will come during business hours.
  • For non-urgent side effects, you can text, and Kerry will arrange a doctor review. For urgent issues, please call.

Your Medical Records

In accordance with legal requirements, cosmetic doctors must provide patients with copies of their treatment notes, treatment maps, signed consent forms, and aftercare instructions.

While most patients choose not to collect these documents on the day of treatment, you may request them at any time, and we will provide them promptly.

All consent forms, treatment details, and aftercare information are also accessible through our Patient Portal.
